Q: Can I change my site after Publishing?
After you have had a site designed and launched, it is possible to update content and images. If you have the skills you can do this yourself, or we can provide a quote for one of our developers to make the changes for you.
Q: Can I have a message forum on my site?
Yes, we have the facilities to be able to implement forums within your website, you can contact us for a free quote anytime. Alternatively if you have the skills you can try using one of our Get Personal DIY or Get Business DIY hosting accounts which includes this software .
Q: Can I put a counter on my site?
While there are many sites that give you code to place a counter on your site, we advise against them as they do not tend to give a professional impression and are more at home on a personal homepage.
We provide an alternative to a counter within your account. You can view statistics about how many people have visited your site and where they came from. Just login to your account management area and click the "statistics" link, then click on awstats.
Q: Can I put whatever I want on my website?
Generally speaking there are no restrictions imposed by us on what information you can publish on your website.
We do however require that you agree to our terms and conditions and do not publish an unsuitable material including, but limited to, pornography, racism and other offensive materials. You must also not publish any material that you do not hold the copyright to, or have express permission to publish from the copyright holder.
Q: Can I have more than one domain name for my site?
Yes, if you have more than one domain name we can "park" your other domains. Depending on the hosting package that you are on there may be a small charge to have a parked domain, check with our friendly staff now.
Q: Does my Small Business need a web site?
It doesn't matter how big or small you are it is a good idea to have a professional online presence. Whether it be email@yourdomain.com or a small 5 page website we have a package to suit you.
Q: What should my website contain
Your new website should be designed with a view to giving you a good-looking professional presence on the internet, and to influence your site's visitors to do business with you by using sensible copy and accurate content. It is also very important to include some sort of illustration on your website, eg. Your company logo, pictures of your product and/ or location. Your look and feel will incorporate most of this with your company colours.
Q: A friend offered to do my website for free, but they don't have much experience. Do you have any advice?
Yes. Ask any designer and they will tell you much of their business comes from "redo's". With today's technology, anybody can put together a website, or create a logo, but how well they do it depends on their training. Just ask yourself - would you get your friend to rewire your house? No! It is often easier and safer to pay a professional to do it right the first time.
